The Kansas Turnpike Authority is introducing a new safety contest this year!

This new contest continues to raise awareness and promote safe driving habits such as wearing a seat belt and not texting while driving using witty or attention-grabbing safety messages — and gives students a chance to have their safety message published in VYPE Kansas magazine.

It’s easy to participate: encourage your students to submit a creative safety message about driving habits OR integrate writing safety messages into your lesson plans. These messages are short and sweet making it a great writing prompt or creative writing exercise that can be easily incorporated into already-established lesson plan or daily schedule. Students may submit multiple entries, but can only win once. All safety messages must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. CST on Friday, October 30, 2020.

The top three safety messages will be displayed in VYPE Kansas magazine, the high school sports magazine for central and northern Kansas including Wichita and Salina surrounding areas, as safety advertisements in upcoming issues, and winners will receive a gift card.

Interested? See full contest details at www.ksturnpike.com/contests
