There’s nothing like being out at the McPherson midseason boys basketball tournament.
I do love tourney weeks.
Boys
Andover 74, Liberal 45 — Eli Shetlar scored 19 points, hitting three three-pointers for Andover, and teammates BJ Redic scored 17 points and Devon Neal-McFarthing had 10.
Berean Academy 40, Hutchinson Central Christian 29 — Hudson Clark scored 12 to lead Hutchinson Central Christian.
Buhler 60, Salina South 38 — Jack Voth scored a team-high 20 points in the win, Wade Meyer added 17 and Grant Ricker 12.
Campus 41, Olathe East 40 — Andrell Burton scored 13 points to lead Campus, and Andrew Howard had eight rebounds.
Carthage, Mo. 62, Andover Central 54 — Kobe Smith led Andover Central with 21 points. SKyler Clevenger hit four three-pointers and had 14 points, while Alsmadi had 10.

Dodge City 75, East 47 — Dodge City was led by Isaiah Taylor’s 19 points. Jhaleal Jones led East with 13 points.
Heights 61, Eisenhower 22 — Heights, which led 35-8 at the half, shot 26 of 48 from the field for the game. Chase Harris scored a game-high 12 points, Dreylin Kemp had 13 and TJ Williams 10. Amalichi Wilkins and Kemp each had six rebounds, Marcus Zeigler had six assists.

Lawrence Free State 73, Bishop Carroll 34 — Free State shot 29 of 54 from the field and was led by Jordan Brown’s 14 points and Isaac Gonzales’ 12. Brown hit 4 of 8 three-pointers, while Mozae Downing had four assists, Cooper Jackson had four steals. Bishop Carroll’s John Hauserman had six rebounds.
Maize 62, Manhattan 40 — Mason Belcher scored a game-high 13 points for Maize, while Jaden Gustafson, Tay Williams and Avery Johnson each scored 10 points. Maize shot 20 of 42 from the field, including 6 of 14 from three-point range. Johnson added six assists and four steals, while Kyle Grill had five rebounds and four assists. Gustafson had eight rebounds.
Maize South 64, Southeast 57
McPherson 51, Derby 48 — After Derby took a 48-47 lead on a three-point play by Jameer Clemons, Cory Muehler scored with 1:15 to take the lead for good. Seth Madron hit two free throws in the final 33 seconds to seal the win. Madron finished with 27 points, hitting 10 of 13 field goals and getting five steals, six rebounds. Muehler had 15 points, Kreighton Kanitz seven rebounds, Mason Miller six. Trent Parke led Derby with 16 points and five steals as he hit two three-pointers. Clemons had 12 points and Samuel Same had five rebounds.
Minneapolis 42, Halstead 27 — Watkins led Halstead with 12 points.
Nickerson 45, Larned 32
Northwest 63, Topeka Hayden 46 — Kee’on Hutton led Northwest with 15 points, and Geremiah Moore and Kevin Brown each had 12 points.
St. James Academy 68, North 31 — Sam Samerhalder led St. James with 19 points and Garrett Lynch had 15 rebounds. Emilian Carrion scored 11 to lead North, and Jacob Wassall had 10. Carrion also had six points and five steals.
Salina Central 55, Abilene 53
SM East 69, Valley Center 56 — Davin Schmelzle scored 12 and Kade Wilson 11 for Valley Center.
Topeka Seaman 63, Blue Valley 55 — Mateo Hyman scored 16 points and Kaeden Bonner had 15 in Topeka Seaman’s win. Blue Valley’s Aidan Shaw scored a game-high 30 points, hitting 11 of 19 from the field.
Wichita South 59, Concordia 43
Winfield 70, Garden Plain 44 — Moore, Acosta and McCauley each scored 12 points for Winfield. Hillman led Garden Plain with 11.
Girls
Andale 56, Collegiate 21 — McKenzie Fairchild scored a game-high 22 points in her three quarters.
