With baseball season finally here, Chaparral is gearing up to take on the long spring season. Three strong athletes return to make the season a little easier. Daxton Hostetler, Ty Hadsall, and Kale Greve couldn’t be more excited to take the field together again.
“I am most excited about the amount of talent we have throughout the team along with the brotherhood we all have,” Hadsall said.
Hopes of making it far into the postseason are high, and Hostetler is ready to make more memories both on and off the field.
“I am excited to see how we will come together losing two key players and who will step up to have a run at state,” Hostetler said. “I am also excited about the post-game meals from the team moms.”
Throughout the years of playing together, the Roadrunners have made it far, but not completed one of their biggest goals. This season, Greve knows they have to put it all out on the line.
“A goal as a team is to go to state,” Greve said. “We’ve made progress all three years and this year I think we have the team to make the next jump to the state tournament.”
There wasn’t much off-time for these athletes, as they all spent the offseason training and conditioning to strengthen themselves.
“In the offseason I have worked at arm care and consistency at the plate during summer ball,” Hadsall said. “During the offseason I went to weights in the summer along with playing summer ball. I also play football and basketball so I move well during baseball,” Greve said.
With this being one of best teams Chaparral has seen in a while, expectations and standards are high as the Roadrunners are set to compete soon.
“A team goal we have is to get to state and get better every day,” Hostetler said.
