Keegan Stritzke, a 12th-grade thrower from Labette County High School, is entering his final track and field season with clear goals and strong determination. Specializing in shotput and discus, Stritzke has already built an impressive resume and is focused on pushing his performance to the next level. This season, he is aiming to achieve personal records in both events while helping lead his team to a Southeast Kansas (SEK) league championship. He also has his sights set on breaking the Wichita State meet record in discus, a goal that reflects both his ambition and work ethic.
During the offseason, Stritzke committed himself to consistent training, splitting his time between workouts at school and at home. In addition to strength training, he has taken a thoughtful approach to improvement by researching techniques online and recording videos of his throws to analyze his form. His dedication extends beyond individual success. He is equally motivated to elevate his team and hopes to help secure both a league title and a state championship.
Stritzke’s accomplishments already speak volumes. Last year, Stritzke recorded standout marks of 52 feet, 7.75 inches in shotput and 167 feet, 11 inches in discus. Still, he remains focused on growth, with a particular goal of improving the school’s shotput record at LCHS.
Looking ahead, Stritzke plans to continue his athletic career at Coffeyville Community College, where he intends to compete in throwing events. Outside of school, he enjoys spending weekends at Grand Lake and runs a mobile detailing business, where he provides detailing and paint enhancement services for clients’ vehicles.
