Wichita Northwest’s Brice Campbell – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Braden Carter Farmers Insurance

For Wichita Northwest golfer Brice Campbell, this season is about more than scores. It’s about growth.

Campbell, a leader for the Grizzlies, has centered his focus on improving areas of his game that haven’t always been strengths, while continuing to build the mindset that has helped him stand out.

“My main primary focus for this season is to grow and develop myself in different areas that I haven’t in the past,” Campbell said.

That growth has a clear goal attached. Campbell is aiming to qualify for the Class 6A State Tournament, held at Firekeeper Golf Course, a benchmark that would mark a significant step forward in his high school career.

“This season I want to accomplish my goal of making it to the 6A state tournament at Firekeeper,” he said.

Campbell believes his discipline and mental toughness give him an edge, especially in a sport that can test a player’s patience.

“My main strengths are discipline and mental toughness,” Campbell said. “I use these for my team to set an example, as golf can get extremely frustrating sometimes, but you can’t give up on your team.”

That mindset extends beyond his own performance. Campbell has embraced a leadership role, pushing his teammates to improve alongside him.

“I want to see all of these guys grow to not only be the best versions of themselves, but to be the best players they can,” he said.

As he continues to refine his game, Campbell has targeted course management as a key area for improvement — a critical component at the varsity level.

“This season I want to work on my course management to help me play to the best of my ability,” he said.

The foundation for that improvement was built during a demanding offseason. Campbell dedicated himself to consistent practice, logging significant hours to elevate his game.

“During the offseason I put in hundreds of hours of work and practiced four to six times a week,” he said. “I have had such great improvement, and I’m glad to be in the position I am today.”
