Jose Anima is looking forward to making the most of the upcoming season for Wichita North High School, with plenty of opportunities to compete, travel and build team chemistry along the way.
“What I am most excited about this season is getting to play with teammates, getting to travel, and having multiple wins on the board,” Anima said.
Anima spent the offseason preparing for the season while also focusing on keeping his knee healthy. He completed workouts designed to help him stay in shape and ready to compete.
One area Anima wants to improve is his ability to take on defenders one on one and finish scoring opportunities quickly. To develop that part of his game, he studied one of soccer’s most creative players.
“One way I worked for that area was watching Neymar Jr. and tried doing the same as him,” Anima said.
Anima enters the season with ambitious goals for himself and the team. After recording six goals and six assists, he is looking to become an even bigger offensive contributor.
His individual goal is to score at least 27 goals this season. As a team, Anima hopes the Redhawks can continue improving and finish the season with a plaque to show for their work.
“As for team goals, I want to be able to win a plaque this season and improve as a team,” Anima said.
With his offseason preparation behind him, Anima is ready to turn his individual goals into production while helping Wichita North take another step forward.
