Salina South’s Morgan Janousek – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Advanced Physical Therapy

By Angela Brunk

Senior Morgan Janousek, a right fielder for Salina South High School softball team, is stepping into her final season with focus, fire, and a clear set of goals shared with Janousek and her teammates. The team would like to host regionals this year and make it to state. After putting in hours of work over the offseason to sharpen her hitting, Janousek is excited to see that training is paying off.

“I’m most looking forward to having fun with my friends and making our last season memorable,” she shared with Vype Magazine. “We’re really determined this year and ready for the challenges ahead.”

Janousek is no stranger to stepping up in big moments. Last season, she posted a .329 batting average, a .426 on-base percentage, and tallied 25 RBIs while hitting in the five-hole. For her clutch performances, she was awarded the “Coming in Clutch” award by her coaches. This is an accolade she’s especially proud of.

Off the field, Janousek is just as active. In addition to softball and volleyball in the fall, she’s involved in HOSA, National Honor Society, and FCA. After graduation this spring, her future plans are just as ambitious as her goals on the field. Janousek will be attending Kansas State University next year to major in Kinesiology with a focus on Pre-Physical Therapy.

As the season unfolds, Janousek hopes to finish strong, both individually and as part of a team that’s hungry for success. With her leadership and determination, there’s no doubt she’ll leave a lasting mark on her senior season.
