As Liberal High School gears up for another exciting basketball season, senior shooting guard James Fieser is stepping into a bigger leadership role. A member of the Class of 2026, Fieser is coming off an impressive year and is determined to help his team make noise in the WAC conference. With a strong core of returning players, he believes this squad has what it takes to compete at a high level and add more wins for the team.
Last season, Fieser averaged 15 points per game, earning First Team All-Conference honors as well as Honorable Mention All-State recognition. Instead of settling, he treated the offseason as an opportunity to elevate his game even further. He spent countless hours lifting weights, conditioning, and getting shots in whenever he had spare time. That dedication will make Fieser even more of a force this season, stepping back on the court stronger, faster, and more confident.
What excites Fieser most heading into the year is the chemistry within the program. “We brought back tons of players from last year,” he said, “and I’m really looking forward to playing with this team again.” With continuity, experience, and renewed energy, Fieser expects the group to be competitive every night.
Beyond basketball, Fieser is a multi-sport athlete and active student-leader. He participates in football, track, National Honor Society, and FCA, showcasing both athletic versatility and strong character. Looking ahead, he plans to attend college, where he hopes to continue playing sports while studying to become a physical therapist.
With his work ethic, talent, and commitment, James Fieser is poised for another standout season and a bright future beyond the court.
