Maize High School senior Lexee Shipp is gearing up for a big final season on the basketball court. As both a guard and point guard, Shipp brings leadership, energy, and determination to the team. With years of experience and a competitive drive, she’s ready to make her senior year one to remember.

For Shipp, this season is all about growth and success, both individually and as a team. “An individual goal I have for myself is to lead my team to success for my senior year,” she said. “A team goal I have for us is getting a regional championship.” Shipp’s leadership on and off the court will be key as Maize battles through a tough schedule.

There are a few matchups that Shipp already has circled on her calendar. “I’m really looking forward to playing our school rival, Maize South,” she said. “A challenge I’m looking forward to is playing against Manhattan,” Shipp added.

This past offseason, Shipp put in countless hours to prepare. From team practices to individual workouts, she made sure to stay sharp and improve every aspect of her game. Her dedication last year earned her AVCTL Division I Honorable Mention, an accomplishment she’s particularly proud of. “It showed the progress I made throughout the year,” she said.

While basketball is a big part of her life, Shipp is also a multi-sport athlete and an active leader at Maize. She plays soccer and flag football and participates in Student Council, National Honor Society, Student Ambassadors, and FCA. After graduation, Shipp plans to play college soccer while pursuing a Sports Marketing degree. Using her passion for athletics and leadership to enter the next chapter of her life.
