Central Burden’s Aubrey Miller – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Advanced Physical Therapy

By Matt Browning

There is no questioning the ability of Central-Burden wrestler Aubrey Miller. She went 34-4 last season and finished fifth at the 3-1A Tournament.

She is currently ranked third in the preseason rankings by the KWCA.

But in order to become a better wrestler, there were things Miller had to improve on.

“One area I wanted to definitely work on it wrestling smart as well as control,” Miller said. “I worked on that by just slowing things down and focusing on running moves better and tighter.”

Being a senior, Miller is ready to take to the mat one final time, while also having a special connection with the coaching staff.

I am very excited about the season just in general, but specifically because it is my senior year,” Miller said. “I am excited to do the sport I love one last year with my parents being the coaches.”

While Miller would love to have a season like last year or an even better one, she wants to enjoy the process and not focus on specific goals.

“I have a lot of individual goals this year but my main goal is just to wrestle for myself and have fun and train because everything will fall into place after that,” Miller said. “Team goals are a little different because we have such a small team but I feel like supporting each other and showing up at practice and tournaments will get us far.”
