Being a senior comes with all the feels and that experience is no different for Mulvane’s Grey Sanders.
“I am super excited to see our team actually go out and perform, but more than anything I’m looking forward to spending time on the baseball field with my friends one last time,” Sanders said.
Sanders’ off-season has been built by different lifting phases as well as a lot of throwing workouts and medicine ball work.
“Over the off-season one of my biggest goals was to develop a high level changeup, so throughout the season I would like to use that effectively.,” Sander said. “In the months before getting on the mound when I was just playing catch, I spun the pitch and got comfortable with pronating the ball how I wanted to, then when I got on the mound we did some pitch design sessions and made little tweaks.”
After losing in the first round of state last year, Sanders has lots of motivation and big goals for his final season.
“I think everyone on the team has the same goal for the team, and that is to win state. My individual goal is to let God guide my season instead of myself, and spread my faith to the rest of the team,” Sanders said.
Last year, Sanders earned first team all-state pitcher and first team all-league pitcher. Next year he will attend the University of Kansas to play baseball and would like to be drafted sometime in the future as well.
