TEAM PREVIEW
The Bulldogs return 17 starters from last season’s team that won two playoff games before falling to McPherson in the 4A Quarterfinals. The strength of Ark City’s team will be its offensive and defensive lines. Max Shannon (6-0, 280) was a unanimous first team all-league offensive lineman last year, while Taviahn Mack (6-1, 290) was also a unanimous first team choice. Jarrett Brooks (6-0, 270) joins Shannon on the offensive line. Owen Bucher (5-10, 170) and Devon Watkins (5-9, 180) will anchor the back end of the defense. Returning sophomore quarterback Gabe Welch (5-11,180) threw for 1,300 yards in nine games last season.
