Andover’s Brynn Eilert – Athlete Spotlight

As a senior at Andover High School, Brynn Eilert has built her athletic career around a simple but demanding principle: showing up with purpose. A three-season athlete who also competes in basketball, track and swimming, Eilert brings an appreciation for effort and teamwork to every court, pool and track she enters. She is listed as a volleyball setter/right-side player and has also competed for Andover in basketball.maxpreps+1

“Athletics has continuously shown me how consistency can pay off. I play a sport in the fall, winter, and spring, so it’s not always easy to show up to practice with a good attitude. I’ve learned that you can control your attitude and effort and I choose to have a good attitude about playing everyday. It’s a blessing to be healthy and able to.”

That outlook comes from home. Eilert credits her parents for modeling the balance of drive and relationships that she hopes to carry forward.

“My parents inspire me because they are so hard working but also so patient. I strive to have their work ethic, yet still maintain great, healthy, close relationships.”

Volleyball offers Eilert both competition and connection. She values the time teammates spend together away from matches, believing those moments make the group stronger when the pressure rises.

“I enjoy all the team bonding on this team. From bus rides, to dinners, to game days, I feel like by the end of the season we all have sister like bonds. I’m going to miss being able to see these girls every season.”

Eilert enjoys jump serving because of the pressure it can put on opponents, and she recognizes teammates who make an impact in distinct ways. She points to Brooke Parham’s communication, Kennadi Noyes’ dependable sets and Marleigh’s willingness to sacrifice for difficult plays.

Her favorite match atmosphere comes against Andover Central, where the cross-town matchup brings a loud, energetic crowd. Away from athletics, Eilert enjoys spending time with friends and family, attending Kansas State sporting events and doing arts and crafts. Her favorite subject is math, excluding calculus, and she remembers eighth-grade science teacher Mr. Hallmark as a favorite educator.
