Trey Kelly, a senior multi-sport athlete, continues to make waves at Andover High School. A standout in both football and track & field, Kelly showcases his talents in a wide range of events like hurdling, long jump, mid-distance, and sprinting. Whether he’s leading his team as a varsity football captain or flying down the track, Kelly brings focus, discipline, and energy to everything he does.
Heading into his final season, Kelly has set the bar high. Individually, Kelly is chasing big numbers. Looking at a goal of 22 feet in the long jump, 40 seconds in the 300 hurdles, and a 23-second 200m dash. Kelly is not just focused on personal wins; his top team goal is to help his squad qualify for the state meet. He’s especially looking forward to competing at the KU Relays and making some noise at the State Championship.
Kellys’s success didn’t come overnight. He spent the offseason grinding in the weight room, doing football conditioning, and training with the Shocker Track Club. That hard work is already paying off. Since last year, Kelly earned the title of varsity football captain and maintained a 3.6 GPA. For Kelly, academics are just as important as athletics. “Grades come first. I’m a student-athlete, not the other way around,” he shared with Vype Magazine.
Looking to the future, Kelly plans to run track at Oral Roberts University while majoring in business administration. Outside of sports, Kelly stays active in his community through youth group, the Kids for Kids club, and refereeing at the YMCA.
With his eyes on state and beyond, Trey Kelly is proving he’s ready for whatever challenge comes next, on the track, in the classroom, and in life.
