Bishop Carroll defensive standout Mitchell Frank is entering the upcoming football season focused on leadership, growth and building on a standout junior campaign that placed him among the state’s top defenders.
Frank said the opportunity to return to the field with familiar teammates is what he values most as the season approaches.
“What I’m most excited about this upcoming season is having one more opportunity to play alongside some of my closest friends and see how much we’ve all grown,” Frank said. “We’ve put in countless hours of work this offseason, and I’m so excited to see that hard work pay off. I’m also looking forward to stepping into a leadership role and doing everything I can to help our team reach its goals this season.”
That offseason work has included consistent training in the weight room and on the field, along with competition against top talent across the Midwest.
During the offseason, Frank said he has focused on both physical and mental development.
“I’ve been going to summer weights and conditioning,” he said. “I’ve been working on my pass rushing and run stopping abilities with my team and trainer. I’ve also been going to camps all around the Midwest competing against some of the best offensive linemen in Kansas, Missouri and Texas.”
Beyond physical training, Frank emphasized the importance of discipline and mindset in his preparation.
“One thing I’ve really been focusing on is developing a strong mindset when facing challenges,” he said. “There are days when I don’t feel like working out or running, but I know it’s what my team and I need to improve. I’ve also been committed to achieving my nutrition goals. Even when I’m tired, I make sure I’m eating enough to support my training and reach my weight goals. I believe discipline is doing what’s necessary even when it’s not easy.”
Frank enters the season with several personal and team goals, including a larger leadership role and continued statistical production. He said he wants to be among the state leaders in tackles for loss and sacks while helping Bishop Carroll compete for championships.
