As a junior at Caney Valley High School, Alexyus Theiss is stepping into the new basketball season with determination, excitement, and a clear vision for what she wants to accomplish. Playing as a shooting guard, Theiss brings energy, confidence, and a growing leadership presence to the Bullpups roster.
For Theiss, this year’s goals reflect both personal growth and team ambition. Individually, she hopes to step up as a leader and be a positive role model for the younger players, a responsibility she embraces as one of the experienced returners. As a team, the Bullpups have their sights set high, aiming to win substate and punch their ticket to the state tournament.
One of the moments Theiss looks forward to the most is creating lasting memories with her teammates, especially while trying to earn back-to-back victories at the Caney Valley Ramona Tournament, a highlight of the season. Last year, she delivered one of her strongest performances at that very event, dropping 15 points against Liberty and earning a spot on the All-Tournament Team, a milestone she remains proud of.
Her offseason preparation was steady and intentional. Theiss dedicated herself to summer weights and gained valuable experience attending Pitt State’s team camp, both of which helped sharpen her skills and increase her confidence heading into the season.
Beyond basketball, Theiss is deeply involved in school and extracurricular activities. She serves as a board member in KAY, participates in FFA, NHS, golf, and softball, and even competes in drag racing, showcasing a wide range of interests and talents.
After high school, Theiss plans to begin her college journey at CCC before transferring to complete a degree in the medical field.
With her drive, versatility, and leadership, Alexyus Theiss is ready to help lead the Bullpups to a memorable and successful season.
