Heading into her senior season, Trinity Espinoza has already surpassed the 1.000 point check point. Last year she scored 275 points and also had more than 50 steals to go along with that.
Espinoza’s goal for the year is to continue her upward trend and help her team make a deep playoff run.
Espinoza plays point guard for Canton-Galva and is hoping to finish her senior season with a winning record. Last year the Eagles finished .500 and Espinoza has a drive to end her senior season better than that.
This offseason, Espinoza has put in the work to improve.
“I take a weights class during school so I’m always working out every day. I usually get into the YMCA to get some shots up and continue working on my game,” Espinoza said. “An area I’m wanting to improve on this year is my shooting.”
As a senior Espinoza’s main role is to be a leader and to lead her team by example and by the way she communicates.
“Some goals I have for the season is to make a run to state and have a connection between my teammates. A few personal goals I have are stepping up and continuing to be a leader on the court and also step it up defensively,” Espinoza said.
