Clearwater’s Emmit Ohdle – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Regent Park Rehabilitation & Healthcare

After earning all-league recognition as a freshman, Clearwater’s Emmit Ohlde isn’t satisfied with what he’s already accomplished. Instead, the standout defensive back is focused on taking another step forward while helping the Indians compete for a winning season.

Ohlde said he’s eager to get back on the field with a group that has spent the offseason building chemistry and preparing for the challenges ahead.

“I’m most excited about getting back out there with my teammates and seeing how much we’ve improved,” Ohlde said. “We’ve all been putting in the work, and I think we’re ready to show what we can do.”

That work has been extensive throughout the offseason. Ohlde has dedicated time to strength training, speed development and attending camps to sharpen his skills while continuing to develop as a complete player.

“I’ve been in the weight room, working on my speed and doing everything I can to become a better football player,” he said. “The camps also helped me learn new techniques and compete against good players.”

One of Ohlde’s primary areas of focus has been improving his overall athleticism, particularly his speed and explosiveness, traits that are critical for a defensive back.

“I wanted to become faster and more explosive,” Ohlde said. “That’s something I’ve worked on a lot because it can make a big difference in coverage and when making plays on the ball.”

The hard work already has translated into recognition. Ohlde earned honorable mention all-league honors as a sophomore defensive back following the 2025 season, giving him confidence heading into another year.

Still, individual accolades aren’t driving his motivation.

“My goal is to keep getting better every day and help our team win games,” Ohlde said. “If I do my job and help my teammates, the individual awards will take care of themselves.”
