Ellsworth’s Josie Kueser – Student Spotlight – Presented by Commercial Tire

By Matt Browning

Agriculture, FFA, and the outdoors have been ingrained in Ellsworth’s Josie Kueser for as long as she can remember.

“I have grown up in production agriculture on a seventh-generation cow/calf operation so I have been involved in agriculture my entire life,” Kueser said. “I first joined 4-H when I was six years old as a Cloverbud and have been involved in the organization since then. I have been involved in the Ellsworth FFA Chapter since my seventh grade year and have become more and more involved each year.”

Kueser has made countless memories through FFA, but she especially enjoys the dedication and hard work that come with competitions.

“There have been countless early mornings and late nights, but infinite memories made in the process,” Kueser said. “Some of the most memorable events are always State CDE’s and State Convention because we have an opportunity to visit with and meet new people from different chapters while also competing with friends.”

For any student—regardless of age—who is considering joining FFA, Kueser encourages them to stay open-minded and dive in.

“I would give them would be to try new things, regardless of if they decide to join the organization or not,” Kueser said. “There are so many amazing opportunities for personal development that youth have, but there is no way to gain the experience without stepping outside of your comfort zone.”
