As she enters her senior year, Kylie Hodgden is stepping onto the court with confidence, experience, and a clear vision for her final high school basketball season. Playing as a post player and forward, Hodgden has embraced the physicality and leadership her position requires, and this year, she’s determined to elevate her game more than ever.
Individually, Hodgden aims to improve her shooting consistency and become a stronger defender, areas she has intentionally worked on in preparation for the season. “I want to be a player my teammates can rely on in tough moments,” she said, fully embracing her role as a senior leader. For the team, the mission is to have a winning season, build strong habits, and create a culture of accountability and support.
Hodgden is excited about the transition into a new league this year, where teams are more comparable in size and style. She’s eager to see how the competition challenges the squad and helps them grow. “It’s a fresh start,” she said, “and I think it’s going to push us in a good way.”
Her offseason was filled with intentional training, focusing on weights and conditioning to become stronger, faster, and more physically prepared. The work has already translated into added confidence and improved performance on the court.
Off the court, Hodgden has big plans. She intends to pursue a dental hygiene program at either Wichita State University or Missouri Southern State University, a field she is passionate about.
A standout in athletics and leadership, Hodgden is involved in an impressive list of organizations, holding officer roles in HOSA, KAYS, FCCLA, STUCO, NHS, 4-H, and participating in Art Club, FCA, and Youth Group. She is also a four-year varsity letterman in volleyball, basketball, and softball, and has played club volleyball for four years.
