Central Plains, led by head coach J.D. Johnson, will again be guided by longtime starting quarterback Brodie Crites. Crites has been the Oilers’ starter under center since day one of his freshman year, giving Central Plains a four-year leader at the most important position. Over that span he has earned multiple all-league, all-district and all-state honors, not just in football but in other sports as well. Coaches note that all of that success and all those accolades have never changed his attitude or work ethic.
Johnson calls Crites the kind of player every coach hopes and dreams for. He’s continually working and asking questions to help himself and his team improve, and he’s a student-athlete that others in the school and on the field or court naturally look up to. As he begins his senior campaign, Crites carries a chip on his shoulder and is hungry to lead the Oilers to more success. His blend of production, leadership and humility makes him the clear centerpiece of Central Plains’ 2026 plans.
