Logan High School, coached by Mike Jenner, highlights two tough, productive leaders in its 2026 nominations: running back Taden Gottschalk and nose guard Brendan Loyd Counter. Gottschalk is praised as an outstanding young man and football player who leads by example, excels academically as an honor student and stands out as an excellent athlete. As a senior, he rushed for more than 600 yards and 16 touchdowns before an injury forced him to miss the final four games of the season. Listed at 5-9, 150 pounds, he plays bigger than his frame, giving the Trojans a gritty, efficient back who finds the end zone.
Up front, Counter emerged as a defensive anchor as a sophomore. Playing nose guard, he led the team in tackles with 64, a rare feat for an interior defensive lineman. Coaches describe him as having a great motor and being a strong football player at 5-11, 270 pounds. Together, Gottschalk’s playmaking and leadership and Counter’s disruptive presence inside give Logan High a tough identity built around effort, character and physical football.
