Friday’s high school football scores (Sept. 13)

Wichita Northwest exacted a bit of revenge on Friday night when it edged Wichita East 14-0 at Carpenter Stadium. East had beaten Northwest twice in 2023, including in the Class 6A playoffs. Northwest scored the game’s first points late in the third quarter on a 45-yard run by Augie Fast. In the fourth quarter, Jaylen Mason hit Chase Carter with a 48-yard touchdown pass. Mason finished with 147 passing yards, while Fast had 154 rushing yards.

Andale is 2-0, but it took a shootout to beat Wellington 56-48. Wellington falls to 0-2 after losing to Collegiate by three in the season opener.

Conway Springs beat Garden Plain 13-7 and is 2-0. The Cardinals scored all 13 of their points in the second quarter, getting a one-yard touchdown runs from Isaac Winter and Cade Howell. Garden Plain opened the fourth quarter with a Brady Brack one-yard score.

Derby beat Campus 77-0 with four quarterbacks playing — Drew Kemp ran for a touchdown, as did Aiden Heckathorn and Blade Clark. Kemp also threw two touchdowns to John Lujan and one to Da’Saahn Brame. Heckathorn connected with Daylen Bledsoe for a touchdown, as well.

Brame added a 65-yard punt return for a touchdown, while running back Aerius Finley had a game-high 114 rushing yards on seven carries. Finley scored two touchdowns, and Davon Morrison had one.

Maize South improved to 2-0 with a 55-22 win over Salina South.

Andover Central beat Newton 50-7 to move to 2-0.

Eisenhower earned the win over crosstown rival Goddard, beating the Lions 32-21 to improve to 2-0. Goddard is 1-1.

Kapaun, Collegiate, Buhler, Cheney, Winfield and Clearwater are all 2-0 after winning by double digits.

Arkansas City picked up its first win as it handed Salina Central its first loss 31-30. Ark City had opened the season with a 39-34 loss to Winfield.
