Hutchinson’s Brooke Hogan – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Hutchinson Clinic

By Blake Chadwick

A senior’s goals are to always leave the program better than they found it, and of course win a state championship. Hutchinson softball senior Brooke Hogan is no different.

Hogan is more than ready to continue to step up her leadership role as she knows just how integral it will be to the team’s success.

“My biggest strengths are my leadership and confidence on the field,” Hogan said. “I use my voice a lot to keep everyone focused and ready for the next play. I try to keep the energy positive and help everyone do their best.”

Hogan has been around the game for most of her life, first picking up a glove when she was about five years old. Since then, softball has grown into a major part of her life and something she continues to build around every season.

“I’ve been playing softball for as long as I can remember,” Hogan said. “I fell in love with the sport early and it’s been a big part of my life ever since.”

For Hogan, preparation and mindset play a major role in how she approaches both practice and games. She focuses on staying positive, learning from mistakes, and making sure she’s doing everything possible to help the team succeed.

“My mindset is about staying focused and thinking about the next play,” Hogan said. “I try to keep my energy up, support my teammates, and learn from every moment. If I make a mistake, I shake it off and keep playing.”

That mentality has helped strengthen the chemistry within the Hutchinson team this season.

“Our biggest strengths are how connected we are and the trust we have,” Hogan said. “We work hard together, support each other no matter what, and never give up.”
