Inman’s Maddison Parsons – Poll Winner – Presented by Hutchinson Community College

By Matt Browning

Inman softball player Maddison Parsons put together an impressive stat line last year. She hit .543 with an OPS of 1.298 and scored 51 runs.

However, the Teutons fell short of their ultimate goal of winning a state championship. Because of that, Parsons is determined to improve her game so the final game of the season ends in victory.

“For myself is to give 100 percent effort at every practice and game, listen to my coaches, and work on improving my softball knowledge,” Parsons said. “Some goals our team have is to make it back to state but also improve what we already created last year.”

One area Parsons wants to improve this season is overcoming mental adversity.

“I want to be able to keep a positive attitude throughout pressure situations,” Parsons said. “I have been working on this by putting myself in these pressure situations in practice so it is natural out on the field.”

Inman has a close-knit team, which is one of the many reasons Parsons is eager for the season to begin.

“I am excited to grow our relationships with each other even more and hopefully start back up where we left off by going back to state,” Parsons said. “I am excited to be back on the field and celebrate everyone’s successes. I am excited to create new memories with the whole team and see what challenges we can overcome together.”
