Logan Isaac from Lyons has been fortunate to play on state tournament teams for football and basketball, so he wants to add a third one to his career.
“A main goal I have for this team is to get to state,” Isaac said. “I would love for that success to carry right into baseball.”
Last season, Issac hit .431, with an on-base percentage of .582 and 24 stolen bases. But his power numbers were not up to his standards.
“I want to continue to improve on hitting for power,” Isaac said. “To work on that, I have been getting in the cages and taking some swings, as well as lifting weights consistently. During the offseason I have been lifting weights and getting some swings in along with playing football and basketball.”
The Lions are a close-knit group and Isaac said for that reason alone he is excited for baseball season to get started.
“I’m most excited about being a part of a great group of seniors this year and being even more of a leader on this team,” Isaac said. “I love playing ball with these guys and going out and competing every day. Being outside and playing ball with my friends, it doesn’t get much better than that.”
