As a senior outside hitter at Maize South High School, Brynn Sutton is embracing her final volleyball season with both gratitude and determination. Known for her leadership and positive energy, Sutton’s goal this year is simple yet powerful, to play her best and uplift her teammates every step of the way.

“As a team, I would say one of our goals is to stay connected because when we are connected, we know we always have each other’s backs and that leads us to play exceptionally.”

Despite being a smaller outside hitter, Sutton has mastered the art of smart, strategic play. Whether it’s tipping over the block or using the blockers’ hands to her advantage, she consistently finds ways to help her team score and keep momentum alive.

The offseason was packed with hard work, including conditioning sessions, weight training, and multiple team camps including Maize South, Wichita State University, and Creighton. These experiences not only sharpened their skills but also strengthened team chemistry heading into the season.

Looking ahead, Sutton is especially excited for senior night, a moment she knows will be emotional and memorable. But more than that, she’s eager to see what her team can achieve. “We have a strong group of selfless girls who work hard and always rise to the occasion,” she says.

Beyond the court, Sutton is just as accomplished. She’s involved in Pep Club, National Honor Society, and the Superintendent Student Advisory Team. She also wrapped up her track career last season by setting the school record in long jump.

After graduation, Sutton plans to attend Kansas State University to pursue a degree in veterinary medicine, with hopes of opening her own clinic one day.
