Oswego High School’s Demitri Williamson has quickly established himself as one of the most versatile and determined athletes in the program. Williamson, a sophomore, plays safety on defense and running back on offense, bringing intensity, athleticism, and leadership to both sides of the ball.
Reflecting on his 2025 season, Williamson shared his main focus was simple. “My main focus was to be better than I was last season and to help my team in any way I could,” Williamson shared. Individually, he worked hard to improve his speed, strength, and football IQ, while his team aimed to grow together each week and make a strong playoff push.
One of Williamson’s proudest performances came in a thrilling matchup against Cedar Vale, where he racked up 327 rushing yards, 34 receiving yards, 60 kick return yards, and 80 punt return yards, a total of 501 all-purpose yards for the game. Although Oswego fell just short, losing by two points, Williamson said the game reminded him of his team’s heart and his own potential when giving maximum effort.
During the offseason, Williamson committed to an early-morning weight training routine, focusing on power, endurance, and conditioning to prepare for the season. Looking ahead, he’s excited to face new competition next year, improve his consistency and leadership, and help his team continue building momentum.
Beyond football, Williamson is a true student-athlete, participating in basketball, baseball, K-Club, and the National Honor Society. He also serves as class president, demonstrating leadership on and off the field.
Williamson’s goal is to play college football by showcasing his talents at the next level and is driven to keep improving academically and on the field. His work ethic and determination make him a name to watch in Oswego athletics.
