At Parsons High School, junior Alex Stoneberger is preparing for a new season full of opportunity, growth, and fresh leadership. Playing primarily at point guard or wing, Stoneberger jokes that she “wasn’t blessed with the height to be a post,” but what she may lack in size, she makes up for in effort, intensity, and passion for the game.

Her main goal for the 2025–2026 basketball season is to get better both individually and as a team. Stoneberger wants the Vikings to build chemistry, find their rhythm, and work together to improve on last year’s challenges. Personally, she aims to strengthen her left-hand dribbling and become more confident in shooting the ball, two areas she’s eager to develop.

One thing Stoneberger looks forward to most is building relationships with her teammates. With a mix of returning players and younger athletes stepping in, she sees potential for positive change. She is also excited to play under Coach Lyons this season. Stoneberger admits she prefers away games, where she often feels more focused and performs better.

The Vikings have faced challenges in recent years, such as low roster numbers, limited height, and a tough 24–25 season with only a couple of wins. But Stoneberger believes the team can dig deep and show meaningful improvement.

Her offseason training focused on running and conditioning to prepare for the pace of basketball, but she acknowledges that most of her year is dedicated to her true passion: softball. A travel softball standout since age ten, Stoneberger plays catcher and shortstop for Midwest Thunder Elite, calling the softball field her “happy place.”

After high school, she hopes to attend KCKCC, where she hopes to play softball while earning a degree in mortuary science.
