Seaman enters the 2026 football season looking to turn last year’s 3-6 record into a springboard for a stronger finish.
Although the Vikings return no offensive starters, they bring back a group of players who gained valuable varsity experience a year ago. Coach Jared Swafford believes that experience, combined with a demanding schedule, can prepare Seaman for a postseason run.
“We are looking forward to our bounceback after last season,” Swafford said. “We know that we have our work cut out for us with a very tough schedule, but that schedule will help prepare us for postseason play.”
Seaman’s offense will be led by senior quarterback Cale Ketter, who returns after completing 137 of 231 passes for 2,013 yards and 23 touchdowns with six interceptions last season.
Ketter will have several experienced targets around him, including seniors Coy Barta and Josh Brown. Barta caught passes for 642 yards and 10 touchdowns, while Brown finished with 627 receiving yards and eight touchdowns.
Senior Jack Becker also returns after contributing 203 receiving yards and a touchdown, along with 35 rushing yards.
Junior running back Quentin Moravec provides another key piece of the offense. Moravec rushed for 879 yards and 12 touchdowns last season and added nine receptions for 59 yards.
Senior Brayden Cochran, a 5-foot-11, 240-pound offensive lineman, will be counted on to help provide stability up front as the Vikings replace all of their returning offensive starters from a year ago.
Defensively, Seaman returns several players with significant production.
Senior linebacker Alex Huston leads the returning group after recording 106 total tackles last season, along with a tackle for loss and a sack.
Senior defensive linemen Nathan Petersen and Bodie Alexander also return. Petersen had 40 total tackles, while Alexander recorded 37 tackles and a tackle for loss.
The secondary features seniors Grant Ebberts, Deegan Frazier and Ross Shipley. Frazier recorded 39 tackles and forced a fumble, while Shipley had 32 tackles, a tackle for loss and two interceptions. Ebberts added 27 tackles.
The Vikings will face a schedule that Swafford expects to test them early and often, but he believes those challenges can pay dividends when the postseason arrives.
“We have a very good group returning this season that gained valuable experience this last season and believe that the opportunity for great things lie ahead,” Swafford said.
For Seaman, the goal is to use that experience and a challenging offseason to build momentum throughout the fall.
“Excited to get to work this summer as we prepare for our season,” Swafford said.
