The Shawnee Mission North volleyball team is working to establish consistency and build momentum as the Buffaloes move through the 2026 season.
The Buffaloes are coming off a 6-22 season in 2025, including a 0-16 record in Sunflower League play. Shawnee Mission North also recorded victories against Wyandotte, Turner, Bonner Springs, Christ Prep Academy, Leavenworth and Lincoln during last year’s season.
With another challenging schedule ahead, the Buffaloes will have opportunities to measure their progress against several of the area’s established programs. Shawnee Mission North is scheduled to face opponents throughout the fall, including Olathe North, Olathe West, Olathe South, Olathe East and Shawnee Mission East.
Back for Shawnee Mission is Sloan Gordon and Amaya Thi, both honorable mention all-league selections.
For the Buffaloes, the focus is on using each match as an opportunity to improve, gain experience and develop the consistency needed to compete in the Sunflower League and Class 6A.
Shawnee Mission North has a strong volleyball tradition, with three state championships in program history, including titles in 1972, 1973 and 2002.
As the 2026 season continues, the Buffaloes will look to build on their early-season victories and continue developing throughout the fall.
