Southeast of Saline senior Suttyn Douglas enters her final season with high expectations and the determination to make it her best yet. Primarily a post player, Douglas brings size, strength, and consistency to a Trojans team aiming for another standout year.

Her team goals are ambitious but well within reach. Douglas wants to win league again, capture the Sterling Tournament title, and make a deep postseason run. Individually, Douglas hopes to lead the team in rebounds and raise her free-throw percentage, two areas she’s focused on improving.

One of the highlights she’s eagerly anticipating is the Sterling Tournament. After finishing second last year, Douglas is motivated to help her team bring home the championship this time. She believes the Trojans have the talent, chemistry, and experience to make it happen.

Much of Douglas’ confidence comes from the offseason work the team put in. Douglas spent significant time in the weight room, developing her strength, speed, and explosiveness. The team also devoted their summer to individual skill work and competed in both an AAU tournament and summer league, gaining valuable experience and building cohesion that will carry into the season.

Looking back, Douglas is most proud of last year’s accomplishments, including winning league and placing second at Sterling, but she is even more proud of her teammates. She credits them for being reliable, adaptable, and a joy to play alongside.

After graduation, Douglas plans to attend Kansas State University, majoring in Entrepreneurship and Innovation with aspirations of becoming a realtor. Beyond basketball, she stays busy participating in volleyball, track, Student Council, NHS, SAFE, TRUST, and FCCLA.

With her work ethic, leadership, and championship mindset, Suttyn Douglas is poised to make her senior season unforgettable.
