Tonight’s Wichita-area high school football scores, stats and recaps (Nov. 1)

As the playoffs start and the road to a state championship begins, it is now do or die for teams as they look to write history for their schools. 

Derby, which finished second in 2023 after losing to Gardner-Edgerton 22-19 in the Class 6A title game, took care of rival Campus 62-7. The Panthers will play Junction City at home on Nov. 8. 

The Panthers (9-0) dominated the entire game again, only giving up a late touchdown to the Colts. Their first two touchdowns came courtesy of Martel Jackson’s 80-yard kickoff return and Da’Saahn Brame’s 54-yard punt return. Then Dylan Karel had a fumble return for a touchdown, and James Middlebrook scored on a 65-yard punt return. 

Andale remains undefeated as the Indians took care of Concordia 51-7 after jumping out early thanks to two rushing touchdowns on four carries by Cooper Marx and two receiving touchdowns from Landon Harp. 

Conway Springs remains unbeaten after a 59-28 win over Bennington. 

The Cardinals were led by Isaac Winter’s 135 rushing yards and two touchdowns. 

The Andover Central Jaguars continued to cruise after a 49-13 win over El Dorado. 

Wichita Collegiate beat Colby 62-0 to improve to 8-1.

Cheney took care of Trinity 63-14; the Cardinals are 8-1. 

Hesston pulled out a win against Goodland and the No. 1 tight end in the country, Linkon Cure, 43-34. 

The Swathers are now 8-1. 

Halstead beat Cimarron 38-7 as the Dragons move on to the second round. 

Wichita Northwest moves to 8-1 after a 35-24 win over Wichita Southeast. 

Kapaun (7-2) beat Rose Hill 55-7. 

Wichita South (6-3) beat Wichita Heights 41-21.

Hutchinson is 7-2 after a 42-7 win over Salina South. They faced each other in Week 4 when Hutch won 47-0.

Maize South ended a three-game losing streak, beating Salina Central 56-35 to improve to 6-3.

Maize won its fifth straight game, beating Washburn Rural 37-21.

Mulvane edged Augusta 29-22 to improve to 7-2. 

Buhler is 7-2 after a 35-7 win over Arkansas City.

Garden Plain beat Douglass 48-0 for its third shutout of the season – and the Owls’ second shutout of Douglass.

Hutchinson Trinity (4-5) beat previously unbeaten Moundridge 20-14.

Haven beat Cimarron 38-7 and is 8-1.

Pratt’s season ended at 6-3 after a 47-46 loss to Clay Center. 

Valley Center improved to 4-5 with a 7-6 win over Goddard. 

Eisenhower’s win over Emporia 55-10 on Thursday pushed the Tigers’ record to 7-2.
