Wichita East’s Jesus Guardado – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Fabiola’s Hair Salon

Wichita East’s Jesus Guardado said he is looking forward to playing alongside his friends and teammates as the Blue Aces begin another season.

“I am excited to play alongside my friends and teammates this season,” Guardado said.

While the season provides an opportunity to compete, Guardado has spent the offseason preparing himself to contribute to the team. He has focused on consistent training and maintaining good eating habits to make sure he is ready when the games begin.

“I have been training every day and eating well to be ready for this season,” Guardado said.

One of Guardado’s primary areas of focus has been improving his first touch. Rather than relying only on occasional practices, he has worked on the skill through daily repetition and paying attention to the small details that can make a difference during a game.

“One area I wanted to improve on was to make sure my first touch was good,” Guardado said. “I worked on that by getting my touches in every day and training every day and just doing the little details no one else sees to make sure I do it.”

That attention to detail is something Guardado hopes will translate to the field throughout the season. After recording two goals and two assists last season, he enters the new campaign looking for ways to help the Blue Aces make an extended postseason run.

“My goal for this season is to make it far in the playoffs,” Guardado said.

With preparation behind him and another season alongside his teammates ahead, Guardado is ready to see what Wichita East can accomplish.
