The Greater YMCA’s newest community-wide program, The eight-week POWER 8 WELLNESS CHALLENGE, will have its kickoff event Tuesday, September 28 at Riverfront Stadium in downtown Wichita.

YMCA members and the general public are welcomed to the event, which will begin at 5:30 pm. Registration will be available onsite at the kickoff event. Only credit card payment will be available.

POWER 8 participants will meet the Y’s personal trainers and coaches, receive an InBody scan, complete pre-assessments at eight different fitness and wellness stations and go onto the baseball field to participate in a YMCA360 workout shown on Riverfront Stadium’s 80-foot wide, 35-foot tall LED scoreboard.

YMCA representatives will be available for media interviews to speak about POWER 8 and how it meets the comprehensive health and wellness needs of our community.

POWER 8 provides an alternative to waiting until a new year arrives to get back in shape. It gives community members an incentive to get fit now so they can feel good about themselves and the approaching holiday season at the same time. The challenge is open to everyone, offering flexibility to choose between indoor, outdoor and virtual training that address the mind, spirit and body.
