Hellas Field of the Month: Wichita South Presented By Hellas Construction, Inc

To say the development and completed construction of a new field at Wichita South was a team effort is an understatement. Former
Athletic Director Kyle Haught was instrumental in getting this project off the ground.  Current Athletic Director John Martin came in to
help insure this project was completed and the student athletes of South are reaping the benefits of their work.

“The 12 year old turf was replaced and the work was completed in early June. Custom colors soccer lines and end zones were a addition in the design process. Hellas has state of the art playing surface and the new drain system that was installed will ensure the field will be able to withstand all the Kansas weather can throw at it,” said AD John Martin.

The design process with Hellas was an easy one according to former AD Kyle Haught. “The design process was great and there are many custom options.   Their crew came out months ahead of schedule due to the shut down and they finished ahead of schedule. Super professional and efficient crew as they took care of our facilities while the job was being completed. Communication was great across the board at every stage.”

Martin said several other school administrators were involved in the process including Aaron Lechien – Asst. Principal, Don Kiser – Grounds-man, and J Means – District AD.
