Max Close, Shrine Bowl East Player Profile – Presented by KDOT-SAFE

Max is a senior tight end from Shawnee Mission South. Max was a three-year letter winner, a 2020 honorable mention All-State defensive end, a 2020 1st team All-Conference defensive end, a 2020 2nd Team All-Conference tight end, a 2019 honorable mention All-Conference defensive end and a 2018 honorable mention All-Conference defensive end. In basketball he was a four-year letter winner, a 2020-21 co-captain, a 2020 honorable mention All-Conference power forward and a member of the 2018 Kansas 6A State fourth place team. In track Max was a two-year letter winner (after Spring ’21) and in 2019 he finished in 12th place at state in the shot put. Max is also a member of the National Honor Society, the Principal’s Honor Roll in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and was a 2020 Homecoming King Candidate.
