Jared Baxa from Republic County was chosen as the Hog Wild Performance of the Month for his game against Beloit on September 4. Baxa ran for 264 yards and two touchdowns on just 14 carries in the Buffaloes’ 30-14 victory over Beloit. It was Republic County’s first win over the Trojans since 1999.
It felt absolutely amazing to perform the way I did,” Baxa said. “I have always been consistent in the running game and felt like I bumped the intensity up during the game which also helped me in my confidence of realizing I couldn’t be stopped.”
The running game was the primary focus of Republic County’s game plan against Beloit. If the Buffaloes could run the ball effectively then Baxa believed they could win.
“We went into the game knowing we were going to beat Beloit by using our speed as an advantage,” Baxa said. “I would say we needed to be successful running the ball because we are a running team more than a passing team, and our strength is focused on our speed and strength in the backfield.”
