Andale opened up a 36-0 first half lead, stunning Hesston with its big-time defensive plays. Andale got the 48-0 win after getting a pick six in the first half, along with two forced fumbles and a blocked punt.

Andale is 5-0.

The win was also the 30th in a row for Andale, which is a school record.

Andover beat Heights 49-7, scoring the games first 21 points — and the final 28 points.

The Trojans have now won four straight games.

Derby improves to 4-0 with the 55-6 win at Hutchinson.

Quarterback Mercer Thatcher threw touchdown passes to Travon Rose and Cayden Brown, while his twin, Drake, scored the game’s first score on a 1-yard run.

Dylan Edwards scored from 38 yards, backup quarterback Brock Zerger added a 33-yard scoring run and Derek Hubbard scored on a 33-yard run.

Edwards finished with 159 rushing yards on 16 carries, while Mercer Thatcher had 80.

Maize South scored 51 first-half points in its 68-24 win over Newton.

Hillsboro improved to 4-1 with a 62-0 win over Haven.

Hillsboro scored 48 first-half points. Matthew Potucek threw for three touchdowns, all to Frank Wichert. Potucek added a 50-yard touchdown run, and Jamari Harris had four TD runs, including a 40-yarder. Wichert added a 70-yard interception return.

Cheney scored the game’s first 14 points, including a 14-yard TD pass from Harrison Voth to Luke Grace.

Cheney won 27-14 over Pratt.

Buhler scored six touchdowns in a row in its 56-21 win over Augusta, turning a 7-7 game into a one-sided affair.

Salina Central trailed Arkansas City 7-6 early in the game, but went on to win 51-14 to improve to 3-2.

Chaparral’s Wyatt Drouhard was 24-of-34 passing for six touchdowns and 364 yards in the 41-21 win over Garden Plain.

Chaparral improves to 5-0.

Circle’s Luke McGinnis was 17-of-35 passing for 295 yards and five touchdowns in the 35-31 win over visiting Winfield. Ty Smith had 167 receiving yards on nine catches for four touchdowns.

Ellinwood beat Salina Sacred Heart 9-6, kicking a field goal in the second overtime to end a 20-game losing streak.

McPherson led El Dorado 35-30 at the half but then outscored the Wildcats 27-6 in the second half for the 63-36 win.

Maize opened up its 57-27 win over Salina South with three huge touchdowns by quarterback Avery Johnson. He ran for 62 yards for the game’s first score, ran for 69 yards for the second and then hit Bryce Cohoon for a 63-yard touchdown.

Conway Springs shut out Independent 55-0, scoring 45 first-half points. The Cardinals had 449 yards of total offense, holding Independent to 24.

Izic Billups threw for one touchdown, a 67-yard pass to Brayden Kunz, and ran for two touchdowns and 90 yards.

Kunz had 99 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Nathan Berntsen and Logan Warren also scored.
