Sedgwick’s Noah Little is the defending 2A champion in both the triple and long jump.
Has already winning a state championship lessened Little’s motivation?
“My individual goals for this season are pretty similar to what they are every year, but just with further marks and shorter times,” Little said. “I really am aiming to hit 48 feet in triple jump and 23 feet in the long jump. I got pretty close a few times last year to both of those but came up short so those are what I really am trying for.”
Little’s offseason was spent in the weight room and on the track, much like previous years.
“Things that I’ve been doing in the offseason to prepare for this season is a lot of lifting and running,” Little said. “Staying in the weightroom and on the track has always been a big part of my offseason routines keeping me healthy and ready for the upcoming season.”
College coaches have given Little advice on what he needs to improve in order to compete at the next level.
“Something that I really want to improve on this year is my speed down the runway with my jumping events,” Little said. “A lot of college coaches have told me that if I could get my speed up on my approach that I could have some really great marks this year so I was keeping that in mind a lot this offseason.”
