After hitting .347 with eight extra-base hits, 13 stolen bases, 15 runs batted in and 18 runs scored, Ark City’s Josh Abrams returns as one of the top players in the area.
While those numbers are impressive, Abrams has his sights set on an even bigger season in 2026.
“My primary focus this season was to improve as a player and play my role as best as possible,” Abrams said. “Something I want to accomplish is getting better as a team and as an individual every game.”
Abrams has a unique skill set that allows him to play anywhere on the diamond.
“I would say my strengths are being able to play just about anywhere on the field,” Abrams said. “I can utilize this by filling spots when needed. “
From an offensive standpoint, Abrams has been elite, but it’s his role as a pitcher that he is determined to improve. “A few things I wanted to work on the season are my performance at the plate and being able to throw several pitches for strikes,” Abrams said.
Abrams is not focused on the Bulldogs’ win-loss record this season. Instead, he will measure success by the growth of himself and his team.
“A successful season for my team and I is knowing that we got better,” Abrams said. “Whether the record shows that or not, as long as we got better as individuals and as a team together.”
