El Dorado’s Daniel Bowlin – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Panda Productions

Daniel Bowlin believes El Dorado football has an opportunity to make a statement this season.

After difficult seasons in recent years, Bowlin sees a team growing more confident and competitive with each practice. He is excited to see what the Wildcats can accomplish against a challenging schedule.

“The thing I’m most excited about for this season is the opportunity that our team has to compete with our schedule,” Bowlin said. “Even though we have had rough seasons in our school’s past, I firmly believe that our team this year can make a big comeback.”

For Bowlin, that comeback is about more than simply wins and losses. He believes the Wildcats are developing into a stronger team with each day of preparation.

“We are becoming confident and more competitive every day of practice,” Bowlin said. “I can’t wait to show everyone what El Dorado football will be like this year.”

Bowlin put plenty of work into making sure he was ready for the season. During the offseason, he attended five football camps from May through July while also maintaining a demanding weight-training schedule.

He did not miss a day of weights Monday through Thursday and also received private training from Midwest Passing Academy.

“This offseason has definitely been one of my most crucial and dedicated seasons throughout high school,” Bowlin said. “Overall, I had a great offseason. I felt so committed to everything I was doing to get better and better.”

As the season approaches, Bowlin has identified field vision and reading keys as areas where he wants to continue improving. He wants to become more effective at identifying open gaps and making the right decisions to help the Wildcats’ offense operate efficiently.

“I want to work on seeing open gaps more and finding ways to run the offense more efficiently,” Bowlin said.

Bowlin spent the offseason working through repetitions and focusing on his read keys. His goal is to make confident decisions regardless of the situation he faces on the field.

“I want to be able to make very effective reads on any type of situation on the field,” Bowlin said.

While Bowlin has individual goals, his approach remains centered on the team. He wants to stay humble, continue working and focus on improving each day.

“I understand what it’s like to get hyped up after a good play, but I always tell myself to stay humble, work hard and be kind,” Bowlin said.

Bowlin also wants the Wildcats to maintain their focus throughout each game, emphasizing the importance of taking things one play at a time.

“A team goal I would like to have this season is to stay focused on what comes next,” Bowlin said. “The next play, the next call and the next opportunity.”

Bowlin believes that attention to detail and consistent effort can help El Dorado take another step forward.

“I want the team to put 100% effort in everything they do,” Bowlin said. “From drill to drill, to play to play, I want them to drive as much as they can every snap.”

Last season, Bowlin carried the ball 74 times for 11 yards and a touchdown while completing 53 of 130 passes for 508 yards and two touchdowns.

Now, with a dedicated offseason behind him and a renewed belief in what the Wildcats can accomplish, Bowlin is ready to help El Dorado show what it can do.

“I always tell myself that hard work pays off, and this summer is when I fully believed that,” Bowlin said.
