Kansas National Football Foundation Scholar-Athletes Announced

The Coach Bill Snyder Family/Sunflower Chapter of the National Football Foundation selected eight Kansas high school senior football players as 2019-20 scholar-athletes. Four of those athletes are from the VYPE coverage area.

Those athletes are: Trey DeGarmo from Andover Central, Collin Koeste from Conway Springs, Ethan McMillian from Bishop Carroll and Kai Wernli from El Dorado.

These awards recognize excellence in academics, football and community leadership as selected by the chapter board of directors. The honorees had to be nominated by their head coach.

“This is another outstanding group of young men that we recognize for their work in the classroom, in the community and on the playing field,” Chapter President Gerry McGuire said of the eight athletes chosen. “These individuals are our leaders of tomorrow, so we take pride in helping them advance their education as they enter the next chapter of their lives.”
