Frontenac High School senior Marlee Stout enters her final season with a clear mission and an unwavering work ethic. As a power forward, Stout is known for her toughness in the paint, her leadership, and her ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor. Her goals for the season reflect that mindset. “Get 1% better every day, be a positive leader for the team, always work hard, and lead our team to state,” Stout shared.
One of the things Stout is most excited for is sharing the court with her sister and closest friends during her final year as a Raider, an experience she hopes will make this season unforgettable. She also has her eye on Frontenac’s marquee matchups, especially against Girard, their longtime 3A rival. Having played offseason basketball with girls from Colgan and Labette County, she always looks forward to the friendly competition that comes when former teammates become opponents.
Stout’s development over the past four years is no accident. She credits her time playing for MoLegacy, a Joplin-based program, for shaping her into a mentally tough, physically strong, and spiritually grounded athlete. The program helped her grow not only as a player but also as a leader, qualities that showed last season when she averaged a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds per game, earning First Team All-Conference honors as a junior.
Looking ahead, Stout plans to study nursing with the goal of becoming a NICU nurse, and she hopes to continue playing basketball at the collegiate level. Off the court, she stays busy nannying, volunteering at her church, coaching youth camps, and participating in NHS and FCA.
With heart, leadership, and championship-level drive, Marlee Stout is ready to leave her legacy at Frontenac.
