Sierra Belote of Lyons has been ready to take on her senior season all year, and is excited to accomplish her long list of goals and ambitions for the season ahead.
“One of my main goals this year is to focus on my mindset,” Belote said. “One thing I have learned is the importance of having a good mindset and being involved in pregame activities in the locker room. This year, I want to obtain more rebounds and steals. I hope to have another postseason honor as well.”
Over the offseason, Belote trained and conditioned with other sports throughout the year to keep her prepared for the upcoming season.
“This year, I have focused on gaining strength, and I’m doing my best to adapt to the height advantage that others have,” Belote said. “Individually, I want to work and fine-tune some of these skills to try to gain an advantage.”
With one last season ahead, Belote is looking forward to a number of traditions and memories.
“I am excited to take on one last season with my fellow seniors,” Belote said. “I’m excited to see what challenges we can overcome together. Also, when we celebrate Coach Bowers birthday
midseason. We always slam Freddy’s whipped cream in his face!”
Belote hopes to play some postseason ball in a few months, but is also looking to take on a tough rival.
“I’m excited to take on Sedgwick,” Belote said. “Last year, it was neck and neck. I could feel the
adrenaline and pressure through all four quarters. It was the most exciting game.”
