Mulvane’s Jaxon Hornecker – Poll Winner – Presented by Visit Wichita

By Matt Browning

The Mulvane boys bowling team took second at the 4A Tournament last season and returning is Jaxon Hornecker, who took sixth individually.

Hornecker is excited to get back to that level again in 2026.

What I am most excited about for this upcoming bowling season is our chance to try to make it to the top again,” Hornecker said. “I’m also excited to see how much I can approve from last year and how much as a team we can build off of our success.”

Being a more consistent bowler is what Hornecker is focused on improving this season.

“Things I worked on during the off-season most is consistency,” Hornecker said. “Being inconsistent was a big role of why I feel like I under-performed last year. To prepare for the upcoming season, I have been practicing and training as much as I can trying to get better every day.”

Hornecker has two specific goals in mind this year and one goal might lead to the second goal – a bigger goal.

“Some goals I have for the season: I want to average 215 on the year and place at every tournament,” Hornecker said. “I want to end off my high school career with a state title. As a team I hope we can take off right where we ended and find the same success we had last year.”
