As the new season approaches, Andale’s Billie Jo Chaffin is entering with key elements she hopes will shape a strong year ahead. Chaffin was a second team all-league bowler for Andale last season.
“I am preparing for the season by practicing as much as I can without wearing myself out,” Chaffin said. “A weakness that I wanted to improve is consistency. I can do really good one game, then not as good the next.”
With that in mind, Chaffin is setting goals that stretch beyond wins and losses, and instead at growth and personal progress.
“My goals for this season are just pushing myself to the best of my abilities,” Chaffin said. “Whether that’s by winning tournaments or by improving my skills.”
One thing Chaffin is looking forward to most is watching the entire team grow together.
“I am most excited about getting to see how much me and my teammates improve over the season,” Chaffin said.
For Chaffin, one tournament already stands out on the schedule as some friendly rivals will go head-to-head.
“The tournament I am most excited about is Cheney because I have some friends that go there and it’s good to have some friendly competition,” Chaffin said.
