Last season, Circle bowler Katy Flores qualified for the state tournament. This season, Flores hoping others will join her.
“I’m most excited about another chance to go to state as hopefully a team,” Flores said. “And to finally see what all the past years were leading up to.”
Flores’ life is busy, so she has to find time to get to the lanes. But her job makes it easier.
Last season, Flores had an average of 145. She took eighth at league, 13th at regionals and 45th at state.
“I haven’t had time this year for any training camps or anything similar so I’ve mostly been bowling whenever I have time,” Flores said. “It’s usually after work. Working for a bowling alley has its benefits.”
In order for Flores to get to where she wants to be, she understands that becoming a steadier bowler has to happen.
“I’ve been trying to work on my consistency and my form,” Flores said. “My goals this year is to hopefully start bowling in the 200 consistent and hopefully score a perfect game at least once this season. I’d love it if we could make it to state as a team again.”
