Myer McNaul, a senior at Rose Hill High School, is preparing to make the most of his final basketball season as a power forward and center. For McNaul, this year is about more than wins and losses; it’s about sharing the court with lifelong friends. A core group of players on the team has been competing together since childhood, and having the chance to finish his high school career alongside them is something he describes as a dream come true.

McNaul’s offseason preparation reflected his commitment to the game. Sports became nearly a full-time job, starting early mornings with lifting, speed, and agility training under trainer Rashad Daniels. His days continued with basketball practices, scrimmages, and tournaments, and often ended with nightly soccer scrimmages. Despite the demanding schedule, McNaul made it a priority to balance athletics with time for family and friends.

One of the biggest improvements in McNaul’s game has come at the free-throw line. After shooting just over 30 percent last season, he made it a point to address his shooting form and dedicate extra time before and after practices to repetition and consistency. The results have been clear, as he has raised his free-throw percentage to 70 percent this season.

Individually, McNaul’s goal is to play his role and do whatever his team needs to win. While he may not be a high-volume scorer, he makes his presence felt through defense, rebounding, and hustle. His defensive impact earned him the team’s Toughness Award.

Beyond basketball, he is a captain on Rose Hill’s 4A state championship soccer team, active in student council, and hosts a school sports talk show. After graduation, he plans to attend Kansas State University to study kinesiology before pursuing a career as a Chiropractic.
