Blue Valley North junior Will Davis is quickly becoming one of Kansas’ most talked-about young talents. The 6’6” small forward has built a reputation for his scoring ability, relentless energy, and leadership on and off the court.
Davis’ recruitment process is heating up, with his most recent offer coming from the University of Tulsa last month. While still undecided on his college choice, Davis’ dream is clear: “I want to play in the NBA one day and prove to others that it’s possible.”
Coming off an impressive sophomore campaign, where he earned All-State honors, First Team All-Conference, and led his conference in scoring, Davis has his eyes set even higher this season. “Some team goals I have are to win our conference (EKL) and a state championship,” he said. “Individually, I want to win Conference Player of the Year and Gatorade Player of the Year.”
One of Davis’ biggest areas of growth has been his shooting consistency. “Coming off a freshman season where I didn’t make a single three-pointer to my sophomore year, averaging one per game, there’s always room for improvement,” he said. “I also focus on effort because it can rub off on others and help us be more successful as a team.”
Off the court, Davis is deeply involved in his school community. He’s part of Heartwork, a suicide prevention club, and serves on the Spirit Squad, supporting other sports at Blue Valley North.
With his strong work ethic, leadership, and determination, Will Davis is poised to make this season one to remember, and his journey is only just beginning.
